One thing that saddens me about most maternity ranges is the serious lack of colour, so when I stumble across something which is such a popping colour as this, it does fill me with glee!

I spotted the model shot on the front page of Bumps Maternity Wear and quickly sent an email demanding to know what items she was wearing! This simple combo of khaki shorts, white shirt and maternity belt looks fabulous. Easily dressed up or down (think accessories), looks totally comfortable and well fitted. Maria at Bumps was thankfully quick to reply.

Over sized T-shirts are bang on trend at the moment, and you can’t go wrong with one from Peacocks as it’s just £14!  It’s baggy obviously, so if you’re going loose on top go tailored on the bottom so you don’t look too frumpy. Skinny jeans will look great as will leggings but a fitted straight legged pair of trousers will work equally  well.

Now I like denim. I’d wear this with the buttons well undone though but if you’re a little more modest – or have bigger boobs – than me, wear a bright coloured vest underneath, or some beads to distract attention away from that ever growing cleavage. This one is an absolute steal at just £15 from Mothercare, and refreshingly, it’s has all sizes from 8 to 20. Great every day piece.

Dorothy Perkins Butterfly Top

I like the way Dorothy Perkins keeps it simple and therefore cheap when it comes to its maternity tops. This 1/2 sleeve scoop neck top with butterfly print has ruching at sides to help with fit. It’s 100% Cotton so machine washable and just £16. You really cannot complain.
