My favourites from their selection has to be the Seraphine wrap coat and the Wool Mix Classic coat from JoJo Maman Bebe.

If you’re liking the ‘puffa’ styled coats, make sure they have a good fit, else you’re going to be looking rather chunky … those coats add pounds to even the smallest frames, especially the longer length ones!

It gives me that festival feeling ....

I just spotted this maternity waterfall parker over at Topshop and straight away I thought of the impending festival season …. I guess I should add a festival inspired post to my to do list! Anyway, this lovely parker is great for right now too. Although spring has sprung, there’s still a rather damp chill in the air, so  for £65 this is a must. And I know it will sell out.

3 Stages of the M Coat

This coat has been on my radar for a few months now. I am in two minds about it. I’ll tell you why. In stage 1, I am not too keen on the cut of it. In stage 3 state, it’s not what i would wear. However, stage 2 in bloody brilliant. When my little one was new, I used to sling her up a lot and go dog walking. I lived on the sea front. She was an October baby, so I used to ‘wear’ her under my coat, well the other half’s coat as she wouldn’t fit under mine. So for stage 2, I think this coat is fab.

I have now showed this to four pregnant people I know. Three of them liked stage 3 (“it’s a classic simple shape – you can’t go wrong with it”) but all of them agreed that stage 1 cut wasn’t too good. We’re not sure if it’s the photo though. It’s the bit with what looks like a pleat at the bottom that we’re not keen on – it’s actually the effect of a drawstring … I think. And all of them loved stage 2.

This coat does have a few pluses – it’s available in a wide range of colours and sizes (I like the Hot Chocolate and Raisin best):

It’s been picked up by a load of resellers – mostly in Canada, where this product originated. At the moment, there appears to be only one UK reseller, Blossom Mother & Child. I will be contacting them and asking for further information – like how well it has sold, and what’s going on with that front maternity panel!

Now for the not so good news … it costs £366. Not the cheapest jacket around, even if it’s superbly functional.

Splurge but lovely!

Protect yourself from the winter chills in comfort and style with this French made sheepskin maternity coat by Blossom, featuring draped lapels and twin pockets. It’s lovely. Next Maternity Jacket £40

I think I may be getting a bit of addiction to maternity jackets! Perhaps because it’s so cold at the moment, or maybe simply because there are so many nice ones out there this season. Like this little number. It’s from Next Maternity and costs £40. Not bad I thought, and it seems I’m not the only one, how’s this for a fantastic review:

Coatigan

I normally hate it when two words are combined to form one, think Jedward. Shudder. But I’m willing to put that to one side for the 80% lambsools Coatigan from Seraphine. You should invest in this knitwear hybrid, fusing coat with cardigan as it looks like it’s the ideal indoor and outdoor cosy cover-up. The high neck collar keeps winter winds at bay and the empire belt gives shape to the soft silhouette. Balance the chunky knit with our slimming jegging trouser and pair with flat riding boots for evening strolls … okay maybe waddles, but you get the point. £69.

Maternity Duffle Coats

Our friends over at Bambino Goodies (the website you need for everything cool for the under 4s, and their mamas….) have spotted these two fab maternity military duffle coats.

First up is a splurge item – the cashmere maternity duffle detail coat from Isabella Oliver. It comes in at £199.

Secondly, the save version – the hooded maternity duffle from Topshop. Its a wool mix coat in navy blue which carries the key double breasted duffle detailing. £70.

Hurry on over peeps. You know the good stuff doesn’t stay there long…

New Look Jackets & Coats

Just been checking out the maternity coats and jackets over at New Look. If you’re looking for a cheap coat then I suggest you head over there now. They cost between £30 and £42. Perfect.

So, we share with you:

1. Noppies Maternity Lewis Trench Coat which is stunning! Noppies have given this maternity coat an amazing shape so it will last through your pregnancy and afterwards too. £84.99 from AllNine.
2. It’s not often we feature Mothercare here, but their Trench Coat is of classic design and just £60.
3. This one is an absolute bargain. Just £24.90 from BonPrix. Can’t complain at that price.
4. The Isabella Oliver Maternity Woollen Trench is a wool cashmere that will remain chic year in, year out, and you can wear post pregnancy too. £239 and gorgeous.
5. This Trench Coat is also from Isabella Oliver and has featured in Marie Claire. It’s on sale at the moment, a snip over £94. Click click before they all go!
6. And finally we have the gorgeous Nahara Trench Coat from All Saints. I have tried this on a 100 times but my bank balance is saying no. It’s £250 and worth every penny
