We’ve had our beady eye on Yan To, a new designer on the scene who’s been creating some fabulous pieces. So fabulous they have inspired us to create a new section on the The Bump Wear Project entitled Pregnant or Not.
It’s where we will bring to you clothes that are not maternity wear but lend themselves beautifully to you bump rockers. They’re items we want, Pregnant or Not.
So first up, is Yan To‘s beautiful dress made of coat weight checked wool which is deliberately cut to sit slightly away from the bust. This gives the impression that the dress floats on the body. It is, in fact supported by an internal corset. A pair of hook and eyes, allow the wearer to raise the back hem of the dress over her shoulders and create a shawl, creating a completely different aesthetic.
The designer says “My take on a ball gown. The idea is that an item that you would expect to be made of a light draping fabric is actually created in a heavy wool but through careful construction achieves the effect of lightness”.
You can view and buy Yan’s collections from the b Store in London, or online at Not Just A Label. The floor length dress costs £395 from Not Just A Label, and you can get the oversized skirt (also pictured) for £295.
We love this. A lot. We want.
And Yan To is all about the female form, and because of this, he creates bespoke pieces.
So if you like his style, hurry along to his website and see the rest of this collection. You can follow what he’s up to on Twitter too and look out for the next collections. *swoon*

Very interesting dress. It’s expensive but that’s what you get for quality.
Absolutely. And it’s worth every penny. Def’ worth checking out Yan’s latest collection too. There are a few items I really need!!
loving Yans collection, not pregnant myself but will pass blog onto a friend who is and looking for an outfit for an event coming up, a bit pricey but you have to pay for what you get right!
Shawls and wraps are another great option for concealing your “bump”… though I do love the dress too!
