New Years Resolution … Get Fit! Keep Fit!


Mums working outStaying fit during pregnancy will help you cope better with the physical demands of pregnancy, labour and being a mummy. However, you should not be thinking of exercising to try to lose weight when your pregnant. Might sound obvious, but you’d be surprised. If you have weight concerns, speak to your health professional. Lecture over.

Pregnant or Not, many people have the new years resolution of joining the gym, or getting fit … or even using the membership that you signed up for last year! So what do you wear when you trying to stay fit whilst pregnant? Squeezing in to your pre-pregnancy gym pants is going to do you no favours!

So here’s a few which we recommend:

Born Fit – This maternity clothing range claims to be unique because of their comfortable waistbands and stretchy fabrics can be worn throughout pregnancy and well beyond baby ‘s arrival but what we like is the simplicity of the range. It has what you need with no unnecessary frills. Perfect. We also like the kits such as Biker Mama and Fore Mom saves you having to shop around to get all the bits you need.

Maternity Active Wear – This range has some really nice pieces. Our favourites include the French Terry Hoody Jacket and the Bamtex tank.

A Pea in the Pod – Slightly more expensive than some of the other ranges but have a lovely yoga collection and an extensive swimwear collection.

Motherhood –  Stocks a wide range of maternity sportswear and a plus size collection but ladies, stay away from those slogan tees! We like the ruched maternity tank.
