ASOS Maternity Dress

I’m Amy, I’m a mum to 4 little girls aged under 5 and currently 27 weeks pregnant. You could say I’ve had a lot of experience with maternity clothes since I have been pregnant since 2004! If you want to know more about me, check me put at my personal blog.

I received this beautiful purple maxi dress from the lovely people as ASOS to review for valentines day. As we all know we love to get dressed up regardless of bump, so this glamorous dress was definitely something I would wear pregnant or not!

At first glance the dress hangs lovely and the material is soft and stretchy. Comfort is always a priority for me and this dress manages to combine glam, comfort and good looks all at the same time. When I put the dress on it fitted exactly where you want it to and the banding that sits above your bump pulls the material in to stop that horrible ‘tent’ effect that you can get with maternity dresses.

The wide straps will hide even the biggest of maternity bras and the neckline is high enough to stop you feeling over exposed but not frumpy. The length is perfect, I am 5’5 and it skimmed the bottoms of my heels whilst wearing it so would easily accommodate a taller lady.

My only recommendation would be to wear some control underwear under the dress if you are not stick thin, because the material is not very thick and can show up the odd lump etc. But apart from that I was very impressed with the dress and I fell in love with it as soon as I put it on.

I would give this dress 4 out of 5 and It is a great addition to your maternity wardrobe and it doesn’t cost the earth either!

So go out, enjoy, and make every day a valentines day and knock your partner dead whilst you rock that sexy bump xxx

  1. I LOVE square necklines (so flattering) and I can’t wait to buy lots of stretchy floor-length skirts and dresses for the summer. Unfortunately, the long grey skirt I have my eye on at ASOS doesn’t come in a maternity version and I imagine I’ll be too big for it by the time summer comes (18 weeks now with a fast growing bump). I’m off to add this to my payday wishlist!!
